Julie Chen Moonves, who was one of the initial hosts and moderators of The Talk (a Daytime Emmy Award winner talk show), returned to host The Talk on August 5th for its 22nd episode. However, her true passion came the time she brought writer into her duties, and was awarded an Emmy for this. Her outstanding talk show also won the host an Emmy. The Talk examines contemporary events by looking through the eyes of five female hosts. Chen Moonves hosted CBS News The Early Show's early morning news broadcast The Early Show for a decade. Before that, she served as anchor of the news on The Early Show and anchor of the CBS Morning News, the morning show of the CBS Television Network, a half-hour broadcast.Chen Moonves covered several major storylines on The Early Show, including the war in 2003 Iraq. Chen Moonves was sent to Cairo following the events of 9/11. There, she tracked her down and spoke with the father who led hijackers to an eye-opening, fascinating interview. Chen Moonves interviewed celebrities such as Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. She also spoke with ex- New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and Queen Rania. Chen Moonves reported on the Emmy award-winning CBS Sunday Morning program. The program featured stars like Jamie Lee Curtis, Betty White, Jamie Foxx Scarlett Johansson, Katie Holmes Matthew McConaughey Brooks, Robert deNiro and Jennifer Lopez. Her previous jobs include working as a reporter for ABC NewsOne, the network's affiliate news channel (1992-1995) and a desk-assistant within ABC News' Los Angeles Bureau (1990-1991), all while finishing her last year of college from The University of Southern California. The desk was hers for ABC News' Nightline program with Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel has remained as one of her journalist idols. Chen Moonves was Koppel's co-worker on Anatomy of a Riot (the primetime special that won the Columbia du-Pont award and looked at what happened during the Los Angeles riots of 1992).
